At the beginning of 2011, seizing the opportunity of straightening up and standardizing education system reform pilot schools and establishing high quality private schools, Qingtian County Party Committee and People's Government decided to establish a modern private junior high school with high standards and high quality. In the spring of the same year, Zou Lisheng, an entrepreneur born in Qingtian, and other people generously contributed money to found Bowen High School (hereinafter referred to as the "School"). Currently, the School has 18 teaching classes, more than 800 students and nearly 70 teachers.
The School adheres to the schooling philosophy of "starting from Bowen High School and seeking answers from Qingtian", the school motto of "creating both inner and outer excellence", and the educational objective of "developing ‘unique’ students with international vision". For the past four years since its establishment, the School has won great support from the Party Committee, the People's Government and the Education Bureau of Qingtian County, and the work of the School has been making steady progress. The School has educated a large number of students "with both internal and external quality as well as overall development", and has developed a team of outstanding teachers "with advanced ideas, noble professional ethics, excellent teaching skills as well as high qualities and efficiency". The brand of "a prestigious school near your home" has been gradually recognized by all walks of life in the home town of overseas Chinese. The School has become a famous school in the hearts of ordinary people.
l has made many achievements: The School has come out in front in the final examination of each semester organized by Lishui City; among the top 100 students ranked by total scores in the examination, more than 90 students were from Bowen High School, and among the top 200 students, no less than 150 students from Bowen High School; among the 200 students early admitted by the key classes of Qingtian High School in 2014, 151 students were from Bowen High School; and among the first term of 245 students graduated from Bowen High School, 234 students entered provincial key high schools, with an enrollment rate of 95.5% in key high schools, ranked first in Lishui City. Among the 200 students early admitted by the key classes of Qingtian High School in 2015, 152 students were from Bowen High School. Over the past year, the School has made excellent achievements in various quality competition activities, for examples: the School won the group first in students’ experiment examination organized by Lishui City, the group first in the 1st Session Chinese Character Dictation Contest organized by Lishui City, and the individual first in Olympiad in Informatics organized by Lishui City. The School was ranked top in Scholastic Aptitude Test Score for the Third Year Students of Junior Schools in Lishui City and was ranked first in general individual classification; among the top 10 students in Lishui City, 2 students were from Bowen High School. Among the 15 students from Lishui City who participated in 2015 CCTV Star of Outlook English Talent Competition (Zhejiang Area), 5 students were from Bowen High School. For the past four years, Bowen High School has authored and published more than 50 books, including textbooks, books of collected papers, and books of research results and more than 30 research projects of Bowen High School won the prizes of Zhejiang Provice, Lishui City and Qingtian County.
During such a short span of nearly four school years, Bowen High School won nearly 20 honors at the county level or above, including "a advanced school for striving for excellence on professional ethics of teachers" successively awarded by Lishui City, "Teaching Quality Excellence Award" and "an excellent school in developmental evaluation" awarded by Qingtian County for two consecutive years, and "an excellent unit" of Qingtian County on the educational work of music, physical education and arts.
